My journey
Projects become
experience.
My journey starts in a garage and takes me through Enns to Vienna and Vorarlberg. Websites and databases grow into software, connected systems, and responsibility for keeping them running.

Getting started
A workspace in the garage
In the second half of 1999, I set up an improvised workspace in the garage at my parents’ home. It’s where I prepare to work for myself. An interest in technology and the first concrete plans begin to take shape as a career of my own.
- 2000
The official start
Starting my own business
I officially register my business on February 20, 2000. The first projects involve websites, databases, and custom software. The interface people see, the data behind it, and the actual workflow all belong together. That connection runs through everything that follows: technology has to work where people use it every day.
- 2001
Connectivity
Getting connected with Inode
My partnership with Austrian internet provider Inode begins. Internet connectivity and provider services become part of my projects early on. Reliable applications depend on reliable connections.

Enns / IT support
More room for projects
An office of my own at Hauptplatz 6 in Enns gives my work a home in the heart of town. Enns becomes one of the formative places in my early years of self-employment. As projects grow, so does my role: alongside development, I increasingly take on IT support, networks, and servers. Individual applications lead me to consider the entire technical environment.

Vienna / Development / Systems
Vienna, RNM, and Microsoft
An office at Lorenz-Bayer-Platz 2 adds Vienna to my locations. From around 2003, I continue my web, software, and IT work under RNM – roeblreiter new media. The Microsoft partnership starts that same year. Windows workstations, servers, and business platforms become part of ongoing IT support.

Infrastructure
From hosting to colocation
Hosting expands to include colocation, starting in 2005. In Erlachgasse in Vienna, I operate my own racks in the former Inode/UPC environment. Servers, networks and responsibility for ongoing operations join software and databases.

Security / Networking
Astaro, later Sophos
With Astaro, I deepen my work on firewalls, VPNs, and connecting business locations. Sophos acquires the company in 2011. The work remains practical: connecting sites securely, setting sensible access rules, and managing changes in production. I consider security and availability together from the start.

Feldkirch / Runastraße 90
An office in Feldkirch
An office at Runastraße 90 in Feldkirch-Gisingen adds Vorarlberg to my locations. After Upper Austria and Vienna, western Austria becomes part of my story as well. Being close to projects is practical: it lets me look at software, networks, and the people using them together, on site.

Servers / Storage
HP and the path to HPE
HP expands my technical work to include servers, storage, and business infrastructure. Procurement, deployment, migration, and operations go hand in hand. I carry that experience into today’s HPE environment.

Ansfelden
Headquarters move to Ansfelden
I move the headquarters from Enns to Ansfelden. The years in Enns remain the foundation; Ansfelden becomes my new central base in Upper Austria. Direct highway access makes traveling to projects easier. Across locations, the collaboration stays personal: we discuss requirements and technical decisions directly.

Nenzing
Continuing in Nenzing
The office in Nenzing continues my presence in Vorarlberg. Upper Austria and Vorarlberg remain important points of reference for my work. To me, being close means getting to know the actual environment and understanding how people work with it. That approach carries through development, integration, and ongoing IT support.

Vienna / Operations
Rack colocation at Interxion
In 2016, I move my rack and colocation infrastructure to Interxion Vienna through the infrastructure of my telecom partner at the time, UPC Austria. I operate it there until 2024. Interxion is now part of Digital Realty. Running infrastructure myself sharpens my understanding of how software, systems, and operations work together.

Telecommunications
From UPC Austria to Magenta
T-Mobile Austria acquires UPC Austria in 2018. Starting in 2019, mobile and cable services come together under the Magenta brand. My telecom collaboration evolves from the earlier Inode/UPC environment to today’s partner, Magenta.

Software / Automation / AI
Experience that connects systems
Today, I develop software, connect applications, and automate workflows. At DAXS, I bring that work together with infrastructure and operations. I use on-premises systems, cloud services, hybrid solutions, and AI tools where they make technical and business sense for the task. From that first workspace in the garage to today, the personal thread remains: I learn the environment, consider how the pieces connect, and take ownership of the work we agree on.
What stays with me
From west to east.
Personally available.
From code and databases to servers and networks: each part affects the others. That is why I also check a change where it needs to work in everyday use.
The business story continues at DAXS. Here, you can get to know my personal journey — and talk with me about what you need next.
